Foeke Postma has written an article for VoxEurop on the EU’s Eurodrone project. He states that the EU “risks cementing the dangerous precedent set by other countries that have already used drones to carry out extrajudicial killings, risk undermining international law, international security, and harming innocent lives.” He argues that Member States represented in the European Council should engage in open discussions and set out clear policies on the use of armed drones, the EU should improve regulation and risk assessment on the export of drone technology and work on international agreements on the use of armed drones.
