EFAD Member DroneWars UK has investigated the ways in which the UK Ministry of Defence reports the drone strikes it carries out, and found that the provided information is severely lacking. Some of the strikes are described in detail, but nearly half of the reports lack so much information that it is no longer possible to determine whether the strikes complied with international law. Other issues in the reporting are the fact that nearly 95% have “airbrushed the presence of civilians”, while the language contains inapproriate language such as “hunting”, “terrorists” and “extremists”.

The report, written by Max Brookman-Byrne, can be found at DroneWars.net as well as in our depository.
